1. Categories / Participants

1.1 Each robot team consists of 1 member (excluding the team supervisor).

1.2 The robot competition is divided into three categories:

  • 1.2.1 Junior All Spike – For participants aged 5 to 13 years (All Spike).
  • 1.2.2 Senior All Lego – For participants aged 14 to 19 years (All Lego).
  • 1.2.3 Open Category – For participants aged 5 and above (All Lego).

2. Competition Field

2.1 Track Specifications

  • The competition field is a smooth surface with a black line on a white or light-colored background, ensuring clear visibility.
  • The track may include inclines and consists of a continuous line, with a width between 1 to 3 cm.
  • The track may contain intersections and broken lines.
  • The official track layout will be announced on the first day of the competition.
  • The final round track layout may be different from previous rounds

3. Robot Specifications

3.1 Size Restrictions

  • The robot must not exceed 20 x 20 cm in width and length.
  • There are no height restrictions.
  • Before the competition, the robot must fit within a 20 x 20 cm box provided by the referees.

3.2 The robot must be built entirely using LEGO parts or LEGO-compatible parts.

3.3 There are no restrictions on the number or source of the main controllers. However, each category must follow specific controller guidelines

  • 3.3.1 4.3.1 Junior All Spike Category Only Spike Prime and Mindstorms Robot Inventor controllers are allowed (as shown in Figure 2) The program must be stored in program slot number 0 only
  • 3.3.2 Senior All Lego and Open CategoriesThere are no restrictions on the type or number of controllers used to build the robot. However, only one program may be stored in the controller for use during the competition. (All Controller by LEGO only)

3.4 Motor Types

  • 3.4.1 Junior All Spike Category There are no restrictions on the number of motors used. Only motors of the specified model (as shown in Figure 3) are allowed. Cutting, modifying, or altering motor wires is strictly prohibited.
  • 3.4.2 Senior All Lego and Open Categories There are no restrictions on the number or type of motors used. However, all motors must be from the LEGO product line or Compatible. Cutting, modifying, or altering motor wires is strictly prohibited.

3.5 Wheels and Tires

  • 3.5.1 Junior All Spike Category There are no restrictions on the number or type of driving wheels and tires used. Only the wheels and tires shown in Figure 4 are allowed. No modifications beyond normal usage are permitted.
  • 3.5.2 Senior All Lego and Open Categories There are no restrictions on the number or type of driving wheels and tires used. However, all wheels must be official LEGO parts. No modifications beyond normal usage are permitted.

3.6 Power Supply Both disposable batteries and rechargeable batteries are allowed.

3.7 The robot must not expand in size during the competition.

3.8 All components of the robot must be securely attached.

  • If any part of the robot detaches, breaks, or falls onto the field during the match, the referee will not remove it, and the match will continue.
  • The referee is not responsible for any consequences resulting from detached parts during the competition.

4. Prohibited Actions in Robot Construction
  • No components or equipment may be used if they cause damage to the competition field under any circumstances.

5. Competition Format

5.1 Competition Attempts

  • Each team will have at least 2 attempts in the competition.
  • Each attempt consists of up to 2 runs (if the first run is incomplete, a second attempt is allowed).
  • The best recorded time from the attempts will be used for ranking.
  • Competitors can start their robot at any time within the designated time window, which will be announced in the competition schedule.

5.2 Ranking System

  • The ranking is determined based on the best recorded time of each team.

5.3 The team with the best recorded time will be declared the Champion.

5.4 The team with the second-best time will receive the First Runner-up award.

5.5 The team with the third-best time will receive the Second Runner-up award.

5.6 The team with the fourth-best time will receive the Third Runner-up award (maximum 1 team).

5.7 Teams ranking 5th to 8th place will receive the Fourth Runner-up award.

5.8 If multiple teams achieve the same best time, a tie-breaker match will be held to determine the rankings.

6. Match Start Procedure

6.1 When the referee gives the signal:

  • Competitors must bring their robot to the competition field within the designated time.
  • Once submitted, competitors may start their match at any time within the allowed period.
  • The robot must be placed at the starting point, facing any direction, but no part of it may extend beyond the starting point.

6.2 Once the referee signals the start:

  • Competitors must turn on the robot to begin operation.
  • The timer starts as soon as any part of the robot crosses the starting line.

7. Pausing and Continuing the Match

7.1 If the robot moves off the track, the competitor may wait for it to return without touching the robot.

  • The timer continues running during this time.

7.2 If the competitor touches the robot, that attempt is immediately considered over.

8. End of the Competition

8.1 The match ends when the robot reaches the finish line, and the referee stops the timer.

  • The latest recorded time will be used as the official competition time.

8.2 If the competitor touches the robot, the match immediately ends, and the referee will record the time as 3 minutes.

8.3 If the competitor chooses to forfeit the match, the referee will record the time as 3 minutes.

9. Rule Violations

A competitor will be considered in violation of the rules if they fail to comply with any part of Sections 4, 9.1, or 9.2.

9.1 Disrespectful Conduct

  • Any competitor who insults, demeans, or disrespects their opponent through words or actions will be immediately disqualified.
  • This includes programming the robot to produce offensive sounds, display messages, or perform disrespectful gestures.

9.2 Additional Violations

9.2.1 Interfering with an opponent’s robot

  • Competitors must not take any action that disrupts the operation of an opponent’s robot.
  • This includes sending infrared signals to interfere with the opponent’s infrared detection module.

9.2.2 Entering the competition field

  • Competitors must not enter the field during another team’s match.

9.2.3 Throwing or placing objects into the field

  • Competitors must not throw or place any objects or components into the field while another team is competing.

9.2.4 Unjustified Match Disruptions

  • Any action that unnecessarily disrupts or halts the competition without a valid reason is considered a violation.

9.2.5 Unsportsmanlike Conduct

  • Any action that is impolite, unethical, or damages the integrity of the competition is strictly prohibited.

10. Penalties

  • Any competitor who violates the rules in Section 9 will be disqualified from the competition.
  • If a team supervisor commits a violation, all teams under their supervision will be disqualified from the competition.

11. Penalties

12. Damages and Accidents During the Competition

12.1 Requesting a Match Pause

  • In this case, the referee will record the time as 3 minutes.
  • A competitor may request to pause the match if their robot experiences an accident that prevents it from continuing.

13. Robot Identification

  • The identification must be easily visible and readable throughout the competition.
  • The robot’s name or identification number must be clearly displayed on its chassis.

Awards

  1. Champion (1 team) – Receives a trophy and a certificate of achievement.
  2. First Runner-up (1 team) – Receives a trophy and a certificate of achievement.
  3. Second Runner-up (1 team) – Receives a trophy and a certificate of achievement.
  4. Third Runner-up (1 team) – Receives a trophy and a certificate of achievement.
  5. Fourth Runner-up (4 teams) – Each team receives a trophy and a certificate of achievement.
